Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Aurelian Syndicate L.L.C. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") concerning your access to and use of the FocusGate mobile application (the "App").

2. Eligibility

2.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years of age to use FocusGate. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old.

2.2 Parental Consent

If you are between 13 and 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use FocusGate with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

3. App Features

3.1 Free Tier

FocusGate offers a free tier with limited features:

• 30 minutes of focus session time per month
• Basic app blocking functionality
• Limited focus session history
• Basic analytics

3.2 Premium Subscription

Premium subscribers receive:

• Unlimited focus session time
• Unlimited app blocking
• AI-powered productivity insights (up to 5 per month)
• Advanced analytics and charts
• Cloud sync across devices (optional)
• Priority support

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Billing and Renewal

• Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Renewal Charge: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• Price Changes: We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days' notice

4.2 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time by:

1. Opening the App → Profile tab → "Manage Subscription"
2. Tapping "Manage in App Store"
3. Following Apple's cancellation instructions

4.3 Refunds

All sales are final. Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policy. To request a refund:

1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
2. Sign in with your Apple ID
3. Select FocusGate and request a refund

We do not have access to Apple's payment system and cannot process refunds directly.

4.4 Restore Purchases

If you purchase a subscription and switch devices, you can restore your subscription by:

1. Opening FocusGate on your new device
2. Tapping "Restore Purchase" on the paywall
3. Your subscription will be verified through Apple and restored

5. Family Controls and App Blocking

5.1 Apple's Family Controls Framework

FocusGate uses Apple's Family Controls framework to enable app blocking during focus sessions. By using this feature, you agree to:

• Grant FocusGate the necessary permissions to block apps
• Comply with Apple's Family Controls usage policies
• Use the feature responsibly and legally

5.2 Emergency Access

While FocusGate blocks apps during focus sessions, you can always:

• End a focus session to regain access to apps
• Access emergency services (911, etc.) at any time
• Access system settings to disable FocusGate's permissions

5.3 No Liability for Blocking

6. AI-Generated Insights

6.1 AI Feature (Premium Only)

Premium subscribers receive AI-generated productivity insights powered by OpenAI's GPT technology.

6.2 No Guarantees

AI-generated insights are provided "as is" without any warranties. We do not guarantee:

• Accuracy of insights
• Applicability to your specific situation
• Achievement of any particular results

6.3 Privacy

AI insights are generated using anonymous statistics only. No personal information is sent to OpenAI.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms in the App
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
• Sending you a notification (for significant changes)

Your continued use of FocusGate after changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Apple-Specific Terms

10.1 Acknowledgment

You acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and Aurelian Syndicate L.L.C., not Apple
• Apple is not responsible for FocusGate or its content
• Apple has no obligation to provide support for FocusGate

10.2 Product Claims

You agree that:

• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to FocusGate
• In the event of any failure of FocusGate to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you
• Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to FocusGate
